Meet Your Stylist
Hi, I'm Tracie! I opened A Cut Above Hair Design in 2005 and have 23 years experience behind the chair. I strive to make everyone feel pampered, beautiful and important while they are in my chair. One of the things I love most about my job is the lasting relationships I create with my clients.
I feel that hair color should compliment my clients' natural beauty which is why my passion is to create natural looking hair color through the latest balayage and color techniques, regular root touch-ups and gray blending services. I stay current with the hair industry as it is constantly changing, by taking hands-on classes as well as using many online sources to keep myself refreshed and up to date on the latest trends and techniques. I recently completed a 4-day Redken Hair Color Authority Course to further broaden my knowledge, creativity and passion for hair color. I am a certified Sunlights Balayage artist as well as just completed a hands-on French Haircutting course.
I took that passion to a new level when I created our exclusive haircare line, Hairapy Essentials in 2019. My goal is to work with you to figure out the best hair care strategy that fits your life style and budget. I always say I love a challenge, and finding creative solutions for better hair is what I do best!
My clients always look forward to my heavenly shampoos and fantastic conditioning treatment featuring a refreshing peppermint scalp massage! My clients feel comfortable knowing they can come in and talk about whatever they want, or nothing at all. But they always leave feeling better than when they came in!
When I'm not working behind the chair, I love spending time with my son playing badminton in the backyard with him. When we're not doing that, we're usually playing UNO, Monopoly, or you might find us on the nearest hiking trail. One Saturday a month, you can find us at the Wayne County Dog Shelter walking some of the dogs that are currently staying there. To relax, you can find me on my front porch with our 2 rescue dogs, a cup of coffee and whatever book I'm currently reading.
