Tracie Ackerman

Hi, I'm Tracie! I opened A Cut Above Hair Design in 2005 and have 25 years experience behind the chair. I strive to make everyone feel pampered, beautiful and important while they are in my chair.  One of the things I love most about my job is the lasting relationships I create with my clients.

I feel that hair color should compliment my clients' natural beauty which is why my passion is to create natural looking hair color through the latest dimensional coloring techniques.  I stay current with the hair industry as it is constantly changing, by taking hands-on classes as well as using many online sources to keep myself refreshed and up to date on the latest trends and techniques.  I have completed a 4-day Redken Hair Color Authority Course, become certifed as a Redken Shades EQ Color Specialist and continue to further broaden my knowledge, creativity and passion for hair color.  I am a certified Sunlights Balayage artist as well as certified in French Haircutting.

My goal is to work with you to figure out the best hair care strategy that fits your life style and budget.  I always say I love a challenge, and finding creative solutions to get you to your hair goal is what I do best!

My clients always look forward to my heavenly shampoos and fantastic conditioning treatment featuring a refreshing peppermint scalp massage!  My clients feel comfortable knowing they can come in and talk about whatever they want, or nothing at all.  But they always leave feeling better than when they came in!

When I'm not working at the chair, I love spending time with my son playing badminton in the backyard.  My husband of 22 years and I like to stay healthy, so you might find us on the nearest hiking trail or in our home gym.  I'm also a sucker for a great coffee flight or trying out a new coffee shop with my coffee buddy. To relax, you can find me on my front porch with our 2 rescue dogs, a cup of coffee and whatever book I'm currently reading.
